National Conference on  Advanced Cancer Therapeutics (ACT-2016) Venue: CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, Hyderabad, India April 4-5, 2016 Two day conference is being organized to deliberate on the latest developments and advances in the design and synthesis of novel molecules, mechanistic studies to discover new cancer therapeutics. The conference aims at providing a platform for detailed discussions on the current status and challenges, and future approaches by bringing together researchers and practitioners in the therapeutic area. for further details visit: http://www.iictindia.org/act2016/

A Review on Resealed Erythrocytes

INTRODUCTION Blood contains various type of cells like erythrocytes (RBC),WBC and platelets, among them the RBC are the most interesting carrier and posse’s great potential in drug delivery due to their ability to circulate throughout the body, zero order kinetics, reproducibility and ease of preparation. The primary aim for the development of this drug delivery system is to maximize therapeutic performance and reducing undesirable side effects of drug as well as to  increase the  patient compliance. Erythrocytes Red blood cells (erythrocytes) are the most common type of blood cells and the vertebrate organism's principal means of delivering oxygen (O 2 ) to the body tissues via the blood flow through the circulatory system. The cells develop in the bone marrow before their components are recycled by macrophages. Each circulation takes about 20 seconds row and circulate for about 100–120days in the body. Resealed Erythrocytes The drug-loaded carrier erythrocytes are

Alcohol Abuse

The World Health Organization’s (WHO) definition of drug dependence is ‘a state, psychic and sometimes physical, resulting from the interaction between a living organism and a drug characterized by behavioural and other responses that always include a compulsion to take the drug on a continuous or periodic basis in order to experience its psychic effects and sometimes to avoid the discomfort of its absence’. More recent definitions include the WHO’s ICD-10 and the American Psychiatric Association’s DSM-IV diagnostic criteria for Substance-Related Disorders, which emphasize the importance of loss of control over drug use and its consequences in limiting other, non-drug-related activities, in addition to tolerance and physical dependence. In the above definitions, a distinction is made between physical and psychological dependence. Although psychological dependence has not been shown to produce gross structural changes, it must be assumed that changes have occurred in the brain at a

A Review on Liposomes

Definition: An artificial microscopic vesicle consisting of an aqueous core enclosed in one or more phospholipids layers, used to convey vaccines, drugs, enzymes, or other substances to target cells or organs. Introduction ¡   Liposome  was found by Alec Bingham of Babraham Institute in Cambridge, England in 1965. ¡   In 1990, drugs with liposome and Amphotericin B were approved by Ireland. ¡   In 1995 America F.D.A approved liposor doxodubicin. ¡   Liposome  is a lipid vesicle suspending in the hydro-phase with a diameter around 0.0025~3.5um. The membrane of liposome is made of phospholipids, which have phosphoric acid sides to form the liposome bilayers. Composition of liposomes: A. Phospholipids The most common natural phospholipid is the phospatidylcholine (PC) is the amphipathic molecule and also known as lecithin.             Naturally occurring phospholipids used in liposomes are: ▪        Phosphatidylcholine ▪        Phosphatidylethanolamine ▪
